Aquent's Fortune 500 retail/ecommerce client is looking for a UI Engineer to work al 9 month contract onsite in Richfield, MN. Local Candidates only please. Business Overview: We are looking for an engineer to join the recommender system engineering team, to help build the underlying technology platform to support the ecommerce client's next generation recommendations and other machine learning initiatives. Client will administer a Javascript code challenge as part of the application process. Project Description: The Recommendations Domain team is executing a large-scale refactoring effort to change how recommendations render on an ecommerce. We are looking for a candidate to provide some front-end leadership as we execute this work. This involves building new services and components to drive render at scale. Responsibilities: • Execution of a greenfield UI render stack, including:Client-side JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, RESTful services, HTML, CSS, and responsive web principles, and jQuery DOM selection and manipulation • Creation of new continuous integration pipelines and new artifact generation. • Leading the creation of new deployment practices and incorporation of build tools. • Partnership with QA to develop plans for cross-device testing. • Strong internal networking while triaging dependencies. • Contributions to agile team ceremonies. • Translating HTML and CSS wireframes into solutions that render correctly across browsers and devices. Skills Overview: Required to have experience in the following areas: • At least three years of web engineering experience, preferably skewed toward the UI • Experience with a JavaScript client render framework (Backbone.js, Angular.js, React.js, others) • Familiarity with publish/subscribe implementation patterns • Able to work on greenfield solutions, where new solutions must be built and there are no obvious exemplars to cannibalize Preferred to have experience in the following areas: • Knowledge of clickstream tracking systems or previous experience with clickstream implementations • Experience with high-scale web applications, including Akamai CDN • Interest in recommender systems Tech Requirements: 1. Client-side JavaScript frameworks such as React.js (advanced) 2. jQuery DOM selection and manipulation (advanced) 3. HTML, CSS, and responsive web principles (intermediate) 4. RESTful services (intermediate; Node.js preferred) Soft Skills: 1. Ability to reach across a large enterprise and develop relationships with many partners, including other teams of programmers and various silos of the Ops organization (infrastructure, release, etc.) 2. Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders. 3. Team player
