Job Description:

Sr. CAD Designer, Women’s Prints Start Date: April 24, 2017 Contract Length: 5 months (Through September 29, 2017) ** A Fortune 500 fashion company is looking for an exceptional Sr. CAD Designer for their Women’s Print team ** RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for the creation of new and on-brand signature patterns for multiple categories across divisions and for usage across all genders • Works with Print Director to initiate concepts each season that are fashion driven and reflective of creative vision for brand • Actively researches current trends in color, textiles, and styles to support print design and color direction for the season • Responsible for communicating and creating visual boards in order to convey print trends and key messages for each season to leadership and design teams • Research, develop and present original print ideas for print and pattern to design and other cross functional teams • Partners with Director of Print to build out initial print and color assortment into their category focuses and also POV Print Boards for each season • May provide direction and guidance to lower level CAD Textile Designers as needed • Responsible for preparations of visual displays for seasonal presentation • Fully responsible for creating and maintaining seasonal digital color palettes • Fully responsible for developing and maintaining an organized project identification system • Responsible for data backups and computer/file storage to include creating and maintaining current seasonal directories on the network • Works closely with design team and outside vendors to address technical issues as they arise • May identify opportunities for increasing workflow efficiencies • Performs departmental maintenance (daily upkeep of prints, ordering supplies as needed) REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree • 5 – 7 years of experience as a Computer Aided Designer • Strong knowledge of historical art and textile influences and terminology • Expert knowledge of CAD systems/software/printers • Must be able to hand render artwork • Expert understanding of print design and application into apparel end-use, and creating high level assortments with strong color and under minimal supervision • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills • Knowledge of copyright registration and trademark infringement laws in regards to designing original art and utilizing purchased artwork for apparel manufacturing • Awareness of product development from conceptualization to finished design for textiles • Excellent Photoshop/Illustrator skills, Ned Graphics experience a plus!
