Job Description:

The Graphic Designer, serving as a partner to our pharma client, manages to critical brand standards, guidelines, requirements and compliances. S/he is a team player who can integrate quickly within our onsite studio team and client teams to develop compelling resources through total command of industry leading design software while managing quality output across respective channels. The Graphic Designer will provide solid design judgment when building files that must conform to our client's production guidelines including meta data, folder structure, naming conventions and supporting documentation. A successful candidate will always be an engaged member of the studio team no matter the task. S/he will achieve and maintain working knowledge of client’s standards – for both design and execution – and will comply with standardized workflow requirements.

Because our client operates in a highly regulated industry and all marcom must go through a strict medical/legal approval process, this design job has a heavy production component. In addition, a lot of this work is templated and is much more production oriented than conceptual. A lot of time is spent on setting up files according to client specifications. Candidates who come from other heavily regulated industries or high-volume internal corporate environments will be more prepared for the nuanced challenges of this position than someone coming from a creative agency environment.

Specific Duties:

  • Designs and revises layouts utilizing copy and other input according to strict brand guidelines, standards, requirements and compliances
  • Build print-ready files as required – mandatory
  • Understand and apply clients’ style and legal requirements
  • Occasionally participate in client meetings as required
  • Utilize existing photo library
  • Utilize agency project management tools efficiently
  • Adhere to studio standards and processes
  • Report billable and non-billable time accurately and on-time
  • Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with all members of Aquent


  • Experience in a regulated industry (pharma, healthcare, finance, investments, banking, insurance, etc.) is highly preferred. At a very minimum, candidate must have high volume production experience in an internal corporate setting (not a creative agency), where strict brand guidelines and standards are followed
  • Strong portfolio of previously produced work
  • Strong technical aptitude, including Macintosh OSX and PC proficiency
  • Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge and Acrobat (CS6)
  • Ability to multi-task comfortably while maintaining competing and demanding deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Works well individually and in teams
  • Highly organized and professional demeanor
