Job Description:

Visual designer with some IxD chops. A pro in Illustrator and Photoshop.

This team is the game console design features team. They are a very sociable team, this person will sit with all the designers, all the PMs, etc. We are maintaining the current features in released version of game console and updating these with improvements as needed. We have a second part of this team that works on new in-depth features to add to the platform. This candidate will be helping both processes. The team is de-centralized in the essence that they work on both types of projects.

In this role you will be working at the studio and working with video game industry. You’ll get to work on multiple platforms and devices. You’ll get to level-up your experience into a multi-dimensional space, be able to work on the gaming experience – console and app (internationally recognized), and create feature design work - shepherding the design work – working collaboratively with all original design creations.

Your day will typically kick off with email and then pick up where they left off the day before. There is a daily SCRUM meeting where everyone discusses the priority of the team as well as any fire drills. Hour to 1.5 time for meeting with PM’s discussing feature requirements, creating and revisions, talking to content and developer expert – making sure that the feature is done completely, some production work but not majority (5%), doing 11th hour fire drills – design fire drills, features will be shared with team but who is assigned is primary owner and content contact

Requirements:
Top 4:
1. Adobe Illustrator & PhotoShop – at least couple years (common software) – tool knowledge
2. Motion and Prototyping – either through video tools (After Effects) or interactive (Invision)
3. Find inconsistencies in design and correcting them – detail oriented (consistency in portfolio is an example.
4. Real company/world experience – 80% real world vs 20% school related. Experience in a larger corporate design environment is ideal.

Years of experience: 2-4 years of experience ideal

Degrees/Certifications: Degree is preferred, although open to if they have the right experience

Best v. Average: Able to ask questions when needed. After Effects (strong tool knowledge), self-motivation – ability to learn internal tools quickly, level of passion for gaming (knowing how it works), console experience, strong visual and interactive design experience on mobile and PC

Tools: Gaming experience, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop. Interaction and Graphic design, although this person will be primarily only doing Graphic Design.
