ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER, MEN’S KNITS START DATE: ASAP CONTRACT: ON-GOING LOCATION: NEW YORK, NY PAY: $27/HOUR ** A FORTUNE 500 FASHION COMPANY IS LOOKING FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER FOR THEIR MEN’S KNITS AND SWEATERS TEAM ** RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and maintain an understanding of brand aesthetic and work with Product Development team to support the development of the product line • Develop and maintain an awareness of how raw materials perform when in garment form • Assist with timely review of raw materials selection and good / better / best process during sketch review • Collaborate with GIS to ensure sample development meets the brands goals for quality and aesthetic • Help to coordinate the presentation of any proto types, washes, testing results and cost options to Design in preparation for Alignment in partnership with R&D • Develop and maintain an awareness of AUC • Assist with preliminary costing and product options to solve for cost issues and sharing with cross functional partners • Create, maintain, and track sample requests and BOMs through Product Adoption • Assist with frolling and help create / track open issues during Alignment and Development trips • Work with cross functional teams to assist in troubleshooting open issues • Track cost effective options, samples, and submits • Ensure system upkeep and data integrity is maintained through development process REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s Degree • One year of Production or Product Development related work experience • Manufacturing knowledge – trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity • Garment production knowledge – production cycle timeline, garment construction and garment costing • Retail math knowledge: AUC, AUR, IMU • Good aesthetic, design and color sense • Solid understanding of design process and garment/product construction • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Strong detail orientation and follow through skills • Organize and prioritize multiple projects • Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks • Demonstrate proactive problem solving skills • Create and maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals • Ability to react to change and deal with ambiguity • Solicit feedback / self development • Demonstrated drive for results
