Work-Life Balance is the Number One Reason Professionals Choose to Work With An Interim Staffing Company

CHICAGO (August 15, 2006) – Aquent Marketing Staffing, the world’s largest staffing firm specializing in the placement of marketing professionals, recently surveyed 1,500 professionals to understand the growing wants and needs of today’s knowledge workers (41 percent of the respondents were temporary professionals, 49 percent were full-time employees, and 10 percent were currently unemployed). According to the survey, 73 percent of respondents said that flexibility in the workplace was essential and 71 percent said they would consider trading income for job flexibility.

With workplace flexibility being at the top of the list for today’s professionals, more and more are turning to temporary work to achieve their ideal lifestyle. The survey found that the temporary staffing professionals who participated in the survey listed work-life balance as the number one reason they choose to work with an interim staffing company such as Aquent Marketing Staffing.

“This isn’t your father’s workplace or workforce anymore. Today’s professionals are turning to alternative solutions like working with a temporary staffing firm to achieve their idea of a work-life balance,”; said Sean Bisceglia, president of Aquent Marketing Staffing. "Over the past five years, we have seen a significant increase in the number of marketers looking for temporary career opportunities. These are experienced marketers with specialized skill sets, and over 40 percent of them have their MBAs." However, it’s not just professionals who are turning to temporary staffing firms. Companies are turning to temporary staffing firms to help achieve a more flexible workforce. Since the inception of Aquent Marketing Staffing in 2003, the company has gone from working with approximately ten clients to having close to 200 clients today. Aquent currently works with 90% of the Fortune 100 companies, with a 92 percent repeat engagement rate.
