BOSTON, MA (Oct. 29, 2007) — Aquent, the world’s largest staffing firm specializing in solutions for creative and marketing organizations, has been awarded the highest designation for a minority supplier by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) - the coveted Corporate Plus® designation.
Corporate Plus, a highly selective membership program of the NMSDC, is reserved for elite minority enterprises with the proven ability to handle national contracts for major corporations. It is designed to recognize the recipient’s national capabilities, bring them to the attention of all National Corporate Members, and expand their participation in the NMSDC Network. Of over 16,000 NMSDC certified minority businesses, fewer than 125 have achieved Corporate Plus member designation.
Aquent’s NSMDC recognition arose from a sponsorship by Capital One, a Fortune 200 financial services leader in McLean, Virginia. Aquent has provided Capital One with a broad range of marketing and creative staffing services for more than 10 years.
"Congratulations to Aquent on their well-deserved Corporate Plus distinction. We’ve long recognized their value and support their recognition as a high quality, nationally capable staffing partner. Through Capital One’s Supplier Diversity Program, we’re committed to creating growth opportunities for companies owned by minorities and women. Our sponsorship of Aquent demonstrates this commitment and positions them well for future success," said Arnold Sowa, Chief Procurement Officer, Capital One.
"Aquent is honored to be selected as an NMSDC Corporate Plus member," said John Chuang, Aquent’s co-founder and CEO. "We specifically appreciate being recognized by Capital One and the NMSDC for our ability to deliver exceptional marketing and creative staffing services on a national basis. We look forward to the opportunity to serve NMSDC members throughout the nation."
